About us
Acoustic tapestry is made up of Felicity Bott on vocals, and Jamie Rutherford on guitar and vocals. Jamie and Felicity have known each other since 2013, and as Jamie is married to Felicity’s sister, they’ve spent quite a lot of time togethersince then, mostly making great music! In 2018, Felicity, Jamie and 2 friends were asked to put together a band for a family wedding, and after such a success they formed the function band, House of Harmony. Jamie and Felicity, who already had been performing together casually decided to become Acoustic Tapestry to spend more time doing what they love – making music.
Jamie graduated from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a Bmus (Hons) in Classical Guitar Performance. It was here that Jamie developed his unique style and beautiful tone that has captivated audiences everywhere.
Since studying, Jamie has also expanded his acoustic, fingerstyle guitar technique and song-writing, and is a Fishman Artist. He has released 3 albums of original music with his trio Threaded, to great critical acclaim. It was also with Threaded that Jamie wrote the music for the Red Earth Theatre production ‘Soonchild’ which they then toured throughout the UK.
Jamie has played in many prestigious festivals and music venues across the UK including headlining Towersey Folk Festival and playing in The Royal Albert Hall.
Jamie also works hard in other projects such as out-reach music in the Royal Derby Hospital, guitar teaching and delivering song-writing workshops. He loves spending his weekends performing with the function band House of Harmony and Acoustic Tapestry.

Felicity Bott
Felicity has been singing since the age of 9 when she joined Derby Cathedral Girls choir. Since then, her love for different styles of singing has grown and she has sang in choirs, musicals, acapella groups and as a soloist in pubs, at weddings and other functions. This eclectic mix of music gave Felicity opportunities to sing all over the world in places such as Italy, Japan and Paris.
Felicity completed her degree in Music at the University of York specialising in vocal performance. After graduating, Felicity moved to Reading to become a piano and singing teacher with Berkshire Maestros where she gained skills in choir directing and vocal tutoring in rock, pop, classical and musical theatre styles. It was here Felicity found a passion for working musically with people with additional needs, and so decided to pursue a career in Music Therapy by doing a Master’s Degree in Music Therapy at UWE Bristol. A year after starting this 3-year course, Felicity moved back to Derby to be closer to family and continued studying long distance.
Felicity has now completed her Master’s Degree, and continues to teach piano and voice, while spending most weekends having a blast performing in Acoustic Tapestry and House of Harmony.
